A private in-person tour of ‘A Splendid Land: Paintings from Royal Udaipur’ was held at The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Asian Art for The Social Register Association, on April 10th, 2023.
The tour was led by Dr. Debra Diamond, the Elizabeth Moynihan Curator for South and Southeast Asian Art at the Freer Gallery of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art, accompanied by Social Register Association Chairman Christopher R. Wolf.
Friends of Mewar’s founder, Padmaja Kumari Parmar, whose family’s generous donation comprise most of the paintings in the exhibition, also joined this private walkthrough organized for The Social Register, an exclusive organization that compiles and publishes a directory of influential and prominent individuals in high society since the 1880s in the United States.
