Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Programme visits Jaipur

Padmaja Kumari Parmar visited Jaipur on the 1st October 2009 to meet the team of doctors, technicians and nursing staff from Orbis International and India Office whose DC10 flying hospital was stationed at Jaipur for a 12 day visit as part of their global programme to both treat patients and train medical staff. The USA based pharmaceutical company Alcon is working alongside Orbis to enhance the skills of ophthalmologists in Rajasthan and India to treat blindness; diagnose and treat cataracts, glaucoma, squint, oculoplastics and corneal disorders in children.

During her visit Padmaja Kumari Parmar talked about diabetic retinopathy and the need for regular awareness programmes in Udaipur specifically, Rajasthan, to treat patients suffering from eye disorders.
